Is the Mk2 project well and truly dead? The silence is ominous...

Be well!

Hi Jaap,

I can't really speak with any authority on the subject but there are at least two major holdup's I know of.. possibly three but the third I know no detail of hence, it's a possible!! Very Happy While I couldn't put hand on heart and say that the project is dead, I know of little forward momentum. In stasis is the best way to describe it I think Wink

Regards

DaveB

Hi Dave!

Should we call it the "Cryogenic Shack" then (grin)?!

I understand that Jan is very busy indeed, which is undoubtedly one of the reasons for the roaring silence surrounding the beast (that's the Shack - not Jan!), and I read somewhere (probably on your own Classic British forum) that Sav has personal issues that prevent him from doing many things he would like to do, so I guess that's a second reason. Even without a possible third reason that's cause for great delay, sadly...

Well, I'm still flying the "3" with great pleasure, not to mention the DD ("Derek's Dove") with Sav's great panel. So at least I'm not grounded (grin)!

Be well, mate!

Jaap.

Didn't know about the Mk2 AEW projest - have had the Mk3 for sometime now though.

I was at Lossie between '81 and '86 when 8Sqn (RAF) had Shack AEW...nothing more satisfying than seeing a Shack stooging about...plug your ears, squint your eyes and it could almost be a Lanc in the distance!!! Hope the Mk2 AEW ain't dead in the water...
